Neighbored by Arkansas (north), Mississippi (east), Texas (west), and the Gulf of Mexico (south), the state has mostly shaped from deposits that washed ashore the Mississippi River. Home of the annual Mardi Gras celebration, Louisiana is located in the southern region of the United States of America, and, is the only state in the nation which doesn’t have counties but “parishes!” ![]()
